Research and Planning: Plan for over Christmas

Over the holidays we are going film and get as much footage as we can. We will be purchasing items for the mise-en-scene and try and be as practical and productive as we can. We will maybe do some extra posts to help us along the pathway of the journey.

Research and Planning: Acting Auditions

Audition 1: This auditionee was auditioning for the mother. The role of the mother would suit her quite well as she is older than the others. She also has dark hair which would suit the character as she is supposed to be mysterious so we will be able to work with that. We will be using this person to play the mother

Audition 2: This auditionee was trying out for the part of a female friend. This person is right for this role as she has the right characteristics, and is the right age. We will be using this person to play this character.

Audition 3: This person was auditioning for the role of the second female friend. We won't be using this person as we felt that she seems more like a main 'heroic' character, rather than being a friend who has to be girly and scared.

Audition 4: This person was auditioning for the role of the male friend. We will be using this person as well because he fits the characteristics and he is the right age etc. and would work well for this role.

Audition 5: This person was auditioning for the role of the main character 'Josh Thompson'. I don't feel that this person was right for this role as he is older than the rest of the friends that we will be using. I also feel that he doesn't have the right look for this role.

Audition 6: This person also auditioned for the main role of 'Josh Thompson'. He fits the role better than the other auditionee as he is the right age.  Although, we still have more people to audition for this role.

Research and Planning: Possible Slug Lines for our Film

Because we have a very bold and simple title for our film trailer, DISCONNECTED, we think we should have a very strong and effective slug line. We have so far come up with the ideas of:

- ''the person you have been calling is no longer available''
- ''don't bring up the past''
- ''when you research the past, your future disappears''

We are open to more suggestions and I think audience feedback will be key for the slug line.

Research and Planning: Script Brief

Research and Planning: Make-Up for Trailer (Mise-en-Scene)

This is Abbie

This is Jess

These are the two actresses that will be cast as main female characters in our trailer, Abbie has a more natural look which is what we want to feature more of. We like Jess' make-up but it wouldn't suit the character she is playing as it is too dark, however this makeup would be suitable for the character of the mum.

Research and Planning: Plan for the week

Today people in our class are showing their trailers so far, because my group have been filming a video for the council we haven't done any as of yet so we are showing ours next week; our tutor was very understanding of this and we will be determined to be focused on producing our film trailer fully now that the council video is out of the way.

Research and Planning: Experiance

In AS film studies I had experience in iMovie and Garageband and also filming for my AS project doing a film short. I will use this to my advantage when doing editing in my trailer. I had to do my own score, my own editing, my own filming etc. and I feel this will really help me for this media block.

Research and Planning: Non-Diegetic Music Ideas

I feel the darkened, piano theme music is very deep and attracting which creates suspense and goes into a more powerful uptempo, action sound which is what we would like to achieve in our Trailer so this will be helpful when making the sound for our trailer.

Research and Planning: Test Shots for Film Magazine

These are four test shots I took for my Film Magazine; I feel the lighting is better outside (natural lighting) however the close-up image for the magazine may look more interesting because the flash of the camera will give it more depth. I really like the 3 shot with the triangle composition and I will use type of shot in either the Film Magazine or the Film Poster or even both.

Research and Planning: MOTION Masthead Font

I decided to make Motor Oil 1937 M54 my Masthead Font because it is very cinematic but with an edgy look. I especially like the M and N because they look sharp and unique to other Film Magazine Mastheads, and I think the whole word MOTION looks slick in this font.

Research and Planning: Film Magazine Masthead Designs

These are some of the fonts I like off DaFont.com; the two I like most are ''motor oil 1937 M54'' and ''Telegraphico'' so for my magazine I think it will be between these two to make the Masthead Design.
