Research and Planning: Non-Diegetic Music Ideas
I feel the darkened, piano theme music is very deep and attracting which creates suspense and goes into a more powerful uptempo, action sound which is what we would like to achieve in our Trailer so this will be helpful when making the sound for our trailer.
Research and Planning: Test Shots for Film Magazine
These are four test shots I took for my Film Magazine; I feel the lighting is better outside (natural lighting) however the close-up image for the magazine may look more interesting because the flash of the camera will give it more depth. I really like the 3 shot with the triangle composition and I will use type of shot in either the Film Magazine or the Film Poster or even both.
Research and Planning: MOTION Masthead Font
I decided to make Motor Oil 1937 M54 my Masthead Font because it is very cinematic but with an edgy look. I especially like the M and N because they look sharp and unique to other Film Magazine Mastheads, and I think the whole word MOTION looks slick in this font.
Research and Planning: Film Magazine Masthead Designs
These are some of the fonts I like off DaFont.com; the two I like most are ''motor oil 1937 M54'' and ''Telegraphico'' so for my magazine I think it will be between these two to make the Masthead Design.

Research and Planning: Film Magazine Analysis 2
The Genre of this Magazine is a Film Magazine, and in this case the genre is a Fantasy/Thriller with aspects of Horror. This is represented by the main colour being Red which signifies danger, alarm and blood. Total Film is a well known Film Magazine and Harry Potter is a well known franchise. The Masthead is slick and professional looking and remains the same in every issue, it doesn't represent a genre or a specific style as the front cover has a different genre all the time. It is also very easily recognised, we can tell this by the way the character stands directly in front of the Masthead and the audience still know what it says. The long shot of the character represents him as a strong male lead as he is shown at a low angle making him appear superior. The low key lighting signifies horror however flashing of bright white lights signifies the thriller side. Through mise-en-scene we can see Harry is also carrying a sword which shows the fantasy genre; this also shows battle which represents the narrative.
The magazine sticks to the 3 colour rule: using Red, White and Grey. It does have Black as well, however it isn't a prominent colour. The banner 'THE MODERN GUIDE TO MOVIES'' shows that it features a lot of current movies and is very reliable. The main coverline is Harry Potter 7 which shows the key feature is the front cover star. The issue number, barcode and date all show the Magazine is a real thing and it isn't made up; even though I knew this anyway as I've heard of the Magazine and actually bought this Magazine before.
The Target Audience of the Film is aimed at Children and Families, however the genre aspects don't usually cater for this audience. The magazine is more for older fans of the films and not children as it is for Film Fans.
Research and Planning: Film Magazine Analysis
The genre of the Magazine is a Film Magazine, which is a well-known Horror based Genre Magazine. The audience can understand this by the Masthead ''GOREZONE'' which instantly signifies the genre as the actual word is related to Horror, and also the Font is very bold and signifies 'old fashioned' horror fonts as it appears very retro and old Hollywood. The colour of the Masthead is also red, which could signify blood, alarm, danger and just horror in general. Unusually for a Magazine, it doesn't follow the 3 Colour rule as it uses 4: but 3 of the 4 colours are the colours of the American Flag (Red, Blue and White), the other being Black. I think the Four colours used work to its advantage because if it was the 3 colours of the American Flag it wouldn't specify the genre Horror, so I feel the black adds more depth and represents the darkness of the Magazine's content.
The Banner 'The World's Most Upmarket Horror Entertainment Magazine'' is in a small bold font at the top of the Magazine. This shows that the Magazine is a very popular genre magazine which is internationally known through the words ''the world'' and ''upmarket''. The medium close-up image of the girl represents her that she could be shown as a good character through the high-key lighting making her appear attractive and through her casual wear costume however her pose and facial expressions represent her as a strong and misleading character as she looks quite psychotic. The blood on her is also contrasting as the audience can't decide whether it is her blood and she is the victim or the blood is off a person she has murdered; this creates a mystery around the character which intrigues the audience to the film AND the magazine to find out more which could show the Narrative of the Film.
The issue number, barcode and date all show that the magazine is a true magazine. The main coverline is ''Natasha Lyonne'' which is showing the main article in the magazine is about the woman on the front cover. Smaller coverlines can be seen around the left hand side of the magazine in a smaller font which shows the other important topics. The Target Audience is Horror fans so it is aimed at an audience, I'd say about aged 15-35 as it is aimed at fans of the genre and Horror films are mainly aimed at an audience aged between this mark.
Research and Planning: Meeting Post
Tomorrow, we are hosting our Acting Auditions so our group are finalasing a brief script for the script for the Trailer. Hopefully, our auditions will be successful as we have people saying they are going to be auditioning. We will be completing our Props and Costumes list also after we have our cast.
Research and Planning: Possible Locations
College/School:
We will use our college for a location. We
need it for the school assembly scene at the equilibrium, also for the classroom, and maybe other scenes which we will figure out in the process,
for example; when the friends are talking etc. The college will be an
easy location and will look quite natural if there is people in the
background.
The House:
We will need to use someone's house for the scene when
the friends are all in the bedroom playing video games etc. We will also
need a shot of the outside of the house for the establishing shot,
before it cuts to them in the bedroom. This won't be hard to achieve, as
we can just use anyone's house.
The Woods:
We will need to woods for when the action begins and
the friends are searching for the boy in the woods. We can use any woods
so this is an e
The Graveyard:
We may need a Graveyard to shoot the parts of the friends next to the boys grave.
Research and Planning: Audition Poster
We made our Audition Poster on Microsoft Word and will be placing them around College for promotion to get Actors for our Trailer.
Research and Planning: Acting Auditions Poster
We put up our Audition Poster around college to promote it to people who would like to be in our Film Trailer.
